Pupil's Code of Conduct

The School has profound faith in self-discipline as it believes that discipline is essential in all walks of life. It is an integral tool for the development of personality. The measures outlined are of “self-help” variety and serve to inculcate an awareness in:

Dress/Appearance/Turnout

  1. All pupils are expected to be neat and clean and wear the proper school uniform.
  2. Shoes need to be well polished.
  3. Girls with long hair must make their hair in two plaits using black rubber band. The children having very short hair must use a black hair band.
  4. Applying henna, wearing rings, fancy/ornamental hairdos/clips are not allowed.

Behaviour/Speech

  1. Students must converse in English during school hours.
  2. Courtesy and politeness will be the hallmark of the pupils, who must greet all staff members, visitors and elders, showing due respect at all times.
  3. Classroom discipline should be maintained.
  4. Pupils must avoid loud talk in and out of classes, and also chorus answers. Silence in corridors, in the library and laboratories are a must.
  5. Damage to school property will be penalized.
  6. Litter must be put into litter bins/dustbins and waste paper baskets.
  7. Running in the corridors is prohibited.

Attendance/Leave/Absence

  1. As regular attendance is an important element of education, no leave or absence will be granted except for serious reasons.
  2. Attendance on the opening and closing days of the terms is compulsory.
  3. Every pupil is required to put in attendance of not less than 90% of the total number of working days. In every term, a certain percentage of marks decided by the School management will be allotted for Attendance which will be included in the Internal Assessments of every subject.
  4. Parents must state clearly the reason for absence, such as religious celebrations, marriages etc. Failure to do so invalidates the application. In case of any emergencies, a maximum of 5 short leaves can be applied in the academic year.
  5. In case of serious illness the Principal must be informed within five days with a Doctor’s certificate accompanied by the leave application given and signed by the parent.
  6. Every absence (sick leave or otherwise) must be entered in the Non-attendance and leave record towards the end of the diary and signed by the parent.
  7. Repeated absence without written leave application for more than 10 consecutive days renders the student liable to have his/her name struck off the rolls. Re-admission, if granted will be done on payment of a fresh admission fee and as per the seat vacancy.
  8. Irregular attendance, improper or errant behavior, habitual idleness, disobedience or defiance of authority, conduct even after warnings or behavior injurious to the moral tome of the school is sufficient reasons for expulsion of a student.

 

General Instructions:

  1. Pupils are not allowed to bring the following:
    • Objectionable literature.
    • Valuables and Video Games, Cell phones, i-pods, smart watches etc.
    • Any equipment/material which may cause injury or hurt others.
  1. Pupils must report the following to the class teacher:
    • Any sickness/bruise.
    • Any breakage.
    • Any errant behaviour
  1. Pupils must take permission for:
    • Leaving the class from the class teacher or subject teachers.
    • Leaving school, from the Principal
  2. Pupils must note that:
    • Chewing gum in the campus is prohibited.
    • Systematic and regular class work, homework, follow up by way of correction, is essential for satisfactory academic performance.
    • Active and creative participation in extra-curricular activities/games and sports/house activities/annual function etc. is mandatory.
    • Bullying is strictly prohibited inside the school premises and no such act will go unnoticed or unpunished.

WITHDRAWAL/SUSPENSION

  1. Any student may be suspended from the school at any time if his/her character or conduct is found harmful to other students.
  2. Grave insubordination or contempt of authorities, disrespect towards the staff and bad moral influence and deliberately damaging the school property leads to suspension.
  3. The undue interference of the parents I the academic affairs and the rude behavior in their dealings that hinders the smooth functioning of the school will lead to disciplinary action against their ward in pursuing his/her studies.
  4. Students whose parents who indulge in political propaganda or who organize fellow students or parents in political faction on the premises of the school or outside in the name of the school or who otherwise engage themselves in party politics are liable to be suspended from the school.
  5. Students can be suspended from the school on the following grounds:
  6. Constant weakness in studies.
  7. Irregularity in attendance.
  8. Involvement in sexual harassment.
  9. Non-payment of the fees or chronic irregularity in payment.
  10. Using vulgar, abusive language repeatedly and taking up fights.
  11. The student who has been issued more than three warning notices/cards.
  12. Warning Cards to be issued in the following circumstances:
    • Use of abusive language.
    • Attempt to self harm.
    • Coming late to school more than 3 times in a month.
    • Physically hurting/bullying fellow students.
    • Holders of 3 cream cards will be issued one grey card & holders of 2 grey cards will be suspended from school
  1. The school enjoys its administrative freedom as provided by the Supreme Constitution of India in its Article 29, 30(1) which grants autonomy of administrative powers to minority educational institutions.
